An interactive visualization mapping the global distribution of machine learning researchers accepted at the ICML 2026 conference.
Built using Astro, Svelte, MapLibre GL, and Cloudflare Pages. The data pipeline was written in Python to ingest, geocode, and cluster affiliations via GeoNames and OpenReview APIs.
Data Limitations: Some authors may be missing or geocoded incorrectly. This typically occurs due to incomplete OpenReview profiles, automated PDF text extraction errors, or geocoding ambiguities (such as common city names or falling back to country centroids).
